Netherlands women confirm Champions Trophy squad

December 21, 2011
Caldas names side that will aim to defend title in Argentina

The Netherlands have named the squad that will aim to defend the FIH Champions Trophy title that they won last July in Amstelveen. Team coach Max Caldas has selected a mixture of experience and youth ahead of the tournament, which begins January 28, 2012 in the Argentine city of Rosario.

The squad includes hugely experienced talents such as striker Kim Lammers, attacking midfielder Naomi van As and star midfielder Maartje Paumen, arguably the best penalty corner drag-flicker in the women's game. The side also contains some less experienced player, with Caldas keen to take a look at some of the promising players that are emerging in The Netherlands. Six players in the squad have less than 20 caps to their name - Sabine Mol, Kitty van Male, Willemijn Bos, Merel de Blaey, Margot van Geffen and Daphne van der Velden.

The full squad can be found below.
