Level 3 Coach

Entry

To access this course you need to be the Head Coach or Programme Director of a hockey team, have a minimum of three (3) years qualified coaching experience, hold a FIH Hockey Academy Level 2 Coach Certificate or equivalent.

Overview

This is a 34 hour practical course supported by an online theoretical course, Complete Coaching (in development). During the course you will improve your coaching by having access to advanced knowledge and skills delivered to you by a FIH Hockey Academy Coach Educator.

The course has 7 modules covering all the topics described in the Coaches Education Pathway, with in-depth focus on coaching theory in the following areas:

  1. Advanced teams
  2. High performance hockey athletes
  3. Mentoring coaches

A competency-based assessment will be conducted for all candidates and only the ones considered competent will be awarded with the certificate.

Delivery

This course is delivered by your National Association in partnership with your Continental Federation and the FIH.

Certificate

You will be awarded a Level 3 Coaching Certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Verification

This course is verified by the FIH through feedback from the FIH Coach Educator, the candidates and other stakeholders.
