    Belgium, Canada and France earn second victory

    2013 World League Round 2, Saint-Germain – Men – Day 2

    Belgium cruised to a second comfortable victory against Scotland (7-1); Canada came back from a one-goal deficit to win a hard-fought and important encounter against Poland (3-1); France also collected a win, but cannot be happy with the many chances they wasted before beating Portugal (6-0). Teams are now split in a group with 3 wins (Belgium, France and Canada) and another group with 3 losses (Poland, Scotland and Portugal). More

    2013 World League Round 2, Saint-Germain – Men – Day 1

    Belgium showed that there are ready for this competition, relentlessly attacking the Portuguese goal to finish with a comfortable win (19-0). Canada won a tough battle against Scotland, holding on to a two-goal lead (5-3). Host France had an early scare against Poland but finally won another hotly contested match (4-2).  x 12 More

    Kazan hosts seminar for judges from all over Russia

    Preparation for the 2013 Summer Universiade

    The international hockey judges seminar kicked off at the Kazan Hockey Centre on May 2 to train national judges for high-quality officiating during the 2013 Summer Universiade. Representatives of 9 regions of Russia (among them Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Rostov Region, Republic of Tatarstan) will come in Kazan for the seminar. A total of 50 umpires and referees will update their qualification and enrich their knowledge of judging at major international tournaments.   More

  • China hosts umpiring course in Changzhow

    The Chinese Hockey Association , with the assistance of the FIH, has recently organised an Umpiring Course held in conjunction with the Qualifying Tournament for China’s prestigious National Games – the “Chinese Olympics”. The 15 umpires on the umpiring panel plus all technical officials & CHA staff at the tournament attended the seminar, held at Changzhow from April 30-May 4. The course was conducted by FIH Umpires Manager, Jan Hadfield. More

    Jake Whetton & Josh Miller net crucial late first half goals

    A hat-trick from local hero Trent Mitton and a slicker, more patient approach helped the Kookaburras to a resounding 5-2 victory over Korea in Perth on Sunday in game two of the four match series. Mitton’s treble was complemented by strikes from Queenslander Jake Whetton and New South Wales’ Josh Miller, the pair getting their names on the score sheet within one minute of each other at the end of the first period.     20 umpires from 16 Nations chosen

    The EHF is delighted to announce the names of those selected for the new EHF U4E (umpires for Europe) programme. Following the huge success of European Hockey Federation's Umpire Development Programme, the EHF Education Committee, Umpires has launched a 3 tiered strategy. Applications for the second tier EHF U4E opened in March. More

    Defences on top as Kookaburras tie Korean opener

    Kookaburras fans witnessed one of those rare sights in the opening match between Australia’s men and Korea in Perth on Friday night - a nil nil draw.
