  • Hockey World Cup 2018 bidding workshop held in Lausanne

    On November 8, the host of hockey’s top event will be announced

    The FIH held a successful Hockey World Cup 2018 workshop for the five countries that have expressed an interest in formally bidding for the right to host hockey’s biggest competitions. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the five nations, Australia, England, India, Malaysia and New Zealand, to the bidding process that lies ahead in the next six months. The final decision on who will host the 2018 Hockey World Cups will be made at the Executive Board meeting on November 8, 2013. More

    Irish Senior Men's Coach Andrew Meredith has named a 20-man squad for the upcoming test matches vs Germany in Heilbronn & Mannheim on the 16th, 17th & 18th of May 2013.     2013 World League Round 2, Saint-Germain – Men – Day 2

    Belgium cruised to a second comfortable victory against Scotland (7-1); Canada came back from a one-goal deficit to win a hard-fought and important encounter against Poland (3-1); France also collected a win, but cannot be happy with the many chances they wasted before beating Portugal (6-0).     Belgium showed that there are ready for this competition, relentlessly attacking the Portuguese goal to finish with a comfortable win (19-0).     Kazan hosts seminar for judges from all over Russia

    Preparation for the 2013 Summer Universiade

    The international hockey judges seminar kicked off at the Kazan Hockey Centre on May 2 to train national judges for high-quality officiating during the 2013 Summer Universiade. Representatives of 9 regions of Russia (among them Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Rostov Region, Republic of Tatarstan) will come in Kazan for the seminar. A total of 50 umpires and referees will update their qualification and enrich their knowledge of judging at major international tournaments.   More

  • China hosts umpiring course in Changzhow

    The Chinese Hockey Association , with the assistance of the FIH, has recently organised an Umpiring Course held in conjunction with the Qualifying Tournament for China’s prestigious National Games – the “Chinese Olympics”. The 15 umpires on the umpiring panel plus all technical officials & CHA staff at the tournament attended the seminar, held at Changzhow from April 30-May 4. The course was conducted by FIH Umpires Manager, Jan Hadfield. More
