    Over the next two weeks, the vibrant Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro plays host to not one but two crucially important international tournaments as the FIH World League sets up stage in South America.     South Africa in good form ahead of Round 2 event in Rio

    The South Africa men’s hockey team had the lion’s share of the first half but were unable to break the deadlock against Chile by half-time before running away with a 3-0 win after a productive second half in this World League Round 2 warm-up match at the Deodoro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Monday night (SA time).     Belarus stuns Ireland in 2-0 shutout in Valencia

    Host Spain dominates the Czechs, 6-0

    The Hockey World League Round 2 tournament in Valencia had its first major upset as top-seeded Ireland lost against fourth-seeded Belarus in a low-scoring 2-0 decision. The loss is a big blow for the 15th-ranked Irish, who now find themselves virtually in a must-win position in their next two games.     On an enthralling closing day at the women's Hero Hockey World League Round Two 2013 in Delhi, home favourite Rani scored the only goal to beat Russia and ensure India topped the group; Japan fought off a robust challenge from Malaysia before running up a 4-0 win in the second half to keep their World Cup hopes alive; Kazakhstan won their first game of the competition when they got the better of Fiji.  x 3 More
