    Van Ass reveals 27 strong group containing many new faces

    Netherlands men’s coach Paul van Ass has announced his 27 strong training group ahead of the key tournaments that the team will take part in this year. Van Ass has named 24 outfield players and three goalkeepers in the group as The Netherlands begin their preparations for the Rabobank Hockey World League (Rotterdam, NED, 13-23 June 2013) and the EuroHockey Nations Championships (Antwerp, BEL, 17-25 August 2013).     A Trent Mitton stunner secures a 7th title for Australia

    Australia left it until the dying seconds of the final to claim their seventh Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia, with Trent Mitton hitting the backboard with just four seconds left on the clock to give the Kookaburras a 3-2 win over host nation Malaysia. Earlier in the day, Korea defeated New Zealand to claim third place, while India battled past Pakistan to finish fifth.  x 10 More

    New Focus for Hockeyroos Star Fiona Boyce

    Fiona Boyce retires from international hockey

    2012 London Olympian Fiona Boyce has retired from international hockey at the age of 25, electing to focus her energy and time on a legal career at the prestigious legal firm, Herbert Smith Freehills. The Perth born athlete represented the Hockeyroos internationally on 100 occasions. She debuted on home soil on 7th July 2009 in a test match against Germany and scored her first international goal against Great Britain in June 2010.  x 4 More

    A 69th minute goal from Faisal Saari gave Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hosts Malaysia a creditable draw against world number two Australia in front of a packed stadium in Ipoh. Both teams remain unbeaten in the tournament and are in a good position to contest the final on Sunday.  x 38 More

    London 2012 legacy shows no sign of slowing

    England Hockey has today announced that its highly successful Give it a Go campaign will run once again this summer, in partnership with Join In UK. Sites across the country will run hockey taster sessions for young people and adults over a five week period that will replicate the programme of the phenomenal summer of 2012. Last year’s Give it a Go programme has been credited with helping attract 30,000 more people to hockey.  x 13 More
