    Experienced Germans advance to semi-finals

    Malaysia reach semi-final after fiery battle with Korea

    Australia scored first in their exciting clash against Germany, but the Germans showed experience to come back in the game, then control the final Australian rush, setting up an explosive semi-final date with the Netherlands, a remake of the 2009 Junior World Cup final. Neither Asian Champions Malaysia nor continental rivals Korea gave an inch in a hotly contested battle. Shahril Saabah scored the decider only eight minutes from time.  x 4 More

    France stuns European Champions Belgium

    Dutch had to fight to the end to fend off strong New Zealand challenge

    France came back from a two-goal deficit and scored three goals in a row to edge European Champions Belgium in a spectacular and high scoring second period. New Zealand goal-keeper Ben Smith stood on his head against the Dutch attacking waves and New Zealand challenged the Netherlands until the very end. More

    Pakistan put away South Africa to set-up match against India

    England overcome weary start to bounce out Egypt; Spain drops Canada after feisty consolation affair

    Two goals from Ammad Shakeel Butt opened up a 4-0 win for Pakistan over South Africa in the semi-final of the consolation bracket, setting up an always highly anticipated clash against India. Six second-half goals, including two from Nicholas Bandurak, helped England take the first consolation tilt against Egypt. A scrappy consolation duel took place between Canada and Spain with the latter prevailing 3-2.  x 2 More

    For the Canadian Team, the Junior World Cup in Delhi was about more than just playing hockey: over the last few months, they collected hockey sticks and equipment in their clubs and communities back home, and yesterday donated them to local kids in Delhi.  x 45       More

    Korean come-back edges India out of quarter-finals

    Skilled Netherlands undefeated in Pool C

    A hat-trick of penalty-corners by You Seungju Korea brings back Korea from a 2-goal deficit to tie the match against host India in a fiery atmosphere. The result is enough to advance Korea to the quarter-finals and push India down to the bottom of the draw. The Dutch players displayed their usual skills at speed to overwhelm Canada and finish undefeated in Pool C. They will meet New Zealand in quarter-final. More

    Last minute draw against Pakistan enough for Belgium to top Pool A

    Germany also qualified with large win over Egypt

    Two late goals by Maxime Plennevaux allowed Belgium to draw with Pakistan (2-2). One point was all they needed to finish on top of pool A. Germany produced a half-hearted effort but nevertheless beat Egypt on a large enough score to insure their quarter-final berth. More

    Black Sticks jump over South Africa for 2nd place of the group

    Asian Champions Malaysia maintained their winning momentum with a comprehensive win over England. They finish on top of Pool D with maximum points. A lone goal by Kane Russell allowed New Zealand to jump over South Africa for second place in the group.  x 56 More

    Australia top Pool B after win over France

    Argentina salvage some pride with win over Spain

    Australia came on top of an entertaining match against France. They finish on top of Pool B, with France also advancing to the business end of the competition for the first time since 1985. Argentina struggled to the end to beat Spain by a meagre one-goal margin. They finish third in Pool B but miss the quarter-final for the first time in nine Junior World Cup appearances.  x 2 More

    Maartje nets twice as Oranje fight back to defeat Hockeyroos in tournament final

    The Netherlands have been crowned as the inaugural winners of the Hockey World League thanks to a stunning 5-1 win against Australia in the tournament final in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina. A sell-out crowd watch a fiercely contested match as the Olympic champions fought back from Anna Flannagan’s early penalty corner strike to emerge as winners courtesy of second half strikes from Maartje Paumen (2), Roos Drost, Kitty van Male and a brilliant solo goal from player of the tournament...  x 75   More

    Hinch & Walton seal Bronze for England

    Las Leonas miss out on medal after second successive shoot-out defeat

    England have claimed the Bronze Medal at the Argentina Hockey World League Final in thanks to a shoot-out triumph over the host nation in San Miguel de Tucuman. Goal-keeper Maddie Hinch and defender Sally Walton proved to be England’s match winners, with the former making two saves in the shoot-out before the latter recovered from scoring an own goal in regulation time to net the winner.   More
