Former national player Bryce Collins has been named as the new assistant coach for the Black Sticks Men. With 10 years coaching experience, Collins was previously high performance manager at North Harbour Hockey Association and is the current National Under-18 Men’s coach and National Under-21 Men’s selector. He also worked alongside Mark Hager and the Black Sticks Women in 2009 and 2010. More

A new Umpire Manager Marking System will come into operation for all tournaments at FIH and Continental levels with immediate effect. This new system has been developed by an Umpiring Committee Taskforce and has the approval of both the Umpiring and Competitions Committees. More

Electric Ireland Irish Women’s coach Darren Smith has named his 18 players to travel to the World League 2 tournament in Valencia, Spain later this month following a nine day training camp last week which culminated yesterday in the Green Army claiming their first victory under the new Coach with a 1-0 victory over Spain. As part of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 tournament in New Delhi, India, the FIH and Hockey India will hold a joint High Performance Coaching Course from February 16-22. The course is the second part of a Coaching Education program for elite coaches who aspire to be high performance coaches.
