    Belgium edge South Africa in 1st Test

    Red Panthers start World League R2 preparation with narrow victory

    The Investec South Africa women’s hockey team were shaded 2-1 by Belgium after trailing 1-0 at half-time in the first Test of the four-Test series at Central Hockey Club in Cape Town on Monday. Goals from Jill Boon and Erica Coppey gave the Red Panthers victory in the first of four test matches being played ahead of next week's World League Round 2 event. More

    Cape Town tournament kicks off the next stage

    The FIH today announced the schedule for the first Hockey World League Round 2 tournament. The women’s event, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, will feature the national teams of Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ghana and host South Africa. It is the first of eight total Hockey World League Round 2 events set to held in the next three months around the globe. More

    Two rare milestones will have to wait for iconic Investec South Africa women's hockey team players Marsha Marescia and Pietie Coetzee. The SA coaching staff have opted to rest Marescia (captain), Coetzee and former SA Player of the Year and double Olympian Tarryn Bright for the four-Test series against Belgium that starts at Cape Town's Central Hockey Club in Vygieskraal on Monday.
