Argentina’s dream of returning to the top table of international hockey is alive and kicking thanks to a 2-1 win over Ireland in the Semi Finals of the Argentina Hockey Men’s Champions Challenge 1. Goals from Pedro Ibarra and Guillermo Schickendantz proved to be enough to set up a Final meeting with Korea, who were winners against Malaysia earlier in the day. Goals from Sukhwinder Singh, Matt Guest, Scott Tupper and Keegan Pereira helped Canada fight back from two goals down to defeat Poland 4-2, while a second half strike from Toshiro Tachibana gave Japan victory against South Africa in the Classification matches at the Argentina Hockey Champions Challenge in Quilmes. The top seeds survived tougher-than-expected games on opening day action of the Champions Trophy in Melbourne. The Netherlands relied on its penalty corners in a 3-1 win against Pakistan, while Germany and Australia's strong first haves were enough to earn victories. The Germans topped New Zealand, 3-2, while host Australia topped Belgium, 4-2. In the late game, India earned an upset win against England, 3-1. More

After three days of action at the World League Round 1 tournament in Doha, Qatar, Azerbaijan is in pole position with six points in its first two games. Host Qatar has also earned six points, but has played one more game than the Azerbaijanis. x 5 More
