  • New FIH Statutes set to take effect Jan. 1

    At the Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the new FIH Statutes were approved. The new Statutes will come into effect on January 1, 2013 and feature some key changes for the FIH and its operations.The biggest addition to the new Statutes is the newly created role of a Disciplinary Commissioner. Another addition to the Statutes is a section that sets out the rights and duties of the Continental Federations. More

    Fair Play comes first in Fiji

    Feature: Hockey World League Round 1 - Suva, Fiji

    Everyone likes to see fair play in action, but at the recent FIH World League Round 1 competition in Suva, Fiji, it was a central theme throughout the tournament. Shortly after the end of each match, the players of both teams would gather together in a huddle before each captain would each take the chance to speak positively about the game. Any built-up tension generated in the match was quickly forgotten, with the two teams shaking hands before lining up for a group photo.  x 5 More

    Fiji enjoy double World League success

    Fijian women seal their place in Round 2 in impressive style

    The women’s national team of Fiji have won the Hockey World League Round 1 tournament in Suva, brushing off the challenges of Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu to seal their place in Round 2. Fiji finished the tournament with a maximum of nine points from their three games, emulating the success of their male counterparts, who also won through to the second phase of the World League earlier this week.  x 2 More
