After two days of competition, Belgium, Russia and Ukraine have marked themselves out as the teams to beat at the Hockey World League Round 1 event currently taking place in Vienna, Austria. Scotland Women Head Coach Gordon Shepherd has revealed the squad of eighteen players for the FIH Champions Challenge competition taking place in Dublin, Ireland from 29 September-7 October.The Scots claimed a bronze medal in last year's FIH Champions Challenge and eleven members of that squad will travel back to Dublin for participation in this season's competition. LAUSANNE – The FIH today announced the schedule for the 2012 Argentina Hockey Men’s Champions Challenge 1, hosted in Quilmes, Argentina from November 24-December 2. The tournament will be the first major FIH event after the 2012 London Games and kicks off the next cycle as teams turn their attention from the Olympics to the 2014 World Cup. The next World League Round 1 tournament is underway as six European women’s teams are facing off in Vienna with a goal to earn a berth to the second round. The Vienna tournament has one of the biggest fields of the first round and also has the distinction of being the only Round One tournament to feature a team that was at the London 2012 Olympics. The Belgium women are ranked 14th in the FIH World Ranking and finished the recent Olympic Games in 11th place. More
