Hockey Australia announced the return of the International Super Series to be played at the Perth Hockey Stadium in Bentley, WA from 22 to 25 November 2012. The International Super Series is a unique and exciting concept that is played with nine players and a modified game time of 20-minute halves and larger goals to ensure plenty of action. x 4 More

The FIH has published its 2013 edition of the Outdoor Hockey Rulebook, which is now available to read and download on the FIH website's Rule page- The first change of note for the 2013 edition aims to simply an important rule. The way a goal is scored is amended; it now includes what is referred to as an “own goal”. A goal can now be scored after the ball is touched in the circle by either an attacker or a defender. x 70 More

The Hockey World League is back in action this weekend as Singapore will host a four-team Round 1 tournament. Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore will play in the three-day Round Robin event.This weekend’s tournament will mark the international FIH debut for two of the four teams as Hong Kong (59th in the FIH World Ranking) and Thailand (49th) are the debutants. x 5 More

The FIH announced today the match schedule for the Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy 2012 to be played in Melbourne, Australia from December 1-9. It will be the 34th edition of the event and one that will see the host nation, Australia, look to defend its 2011 Champions Trophy title. It will also be the first time that the cross-over quarterfinal format is used at a men’s Champions Trophy. x 12 More

The FIH is saddened to report the death of EHF Member of Honour, Robert Watson, who died after a battle with illness over the past two years. Robert, know affectionately as Bob, took over as the second Hon.Secretary of the EHF from Maurice Fraikin in 1978 and served until 1989, when he then served the EHF as Vice-President until 1993. Within the FIH he was a member of the Disciplinary Committee and served on that body for 28 years. More

The women’s national team of Belarus made history on Sunday, becoming the first team to win a World League competition. The Polish men’s national team wasn’t far behind, claiming the men’s title just hours later. The Belarus women came out on top of the three way tie at the top of the standings between Italy, Scotland and the title winners, who all had 12 points at the end of the Round Robin. Poland went unbeaten in its three games. x 3 More
