    Olympic Qualifier host flies high in 5-1 win against Azerbaijan

    Everything at today's Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament final was in Japan's favor. A sold out crowd, perfect blue skies, and a amazing show of domination against Azerbaijan in a 5-1 victory. The win lifted the Japanese to their third consecutive Olympic appearance and was a fitting ending for the top-seeded hosts.  x 22 More

    With Japan earning the last spot in the London Games, the preliminary round picture became clear. In the next few weeks, the FIH and the London Organizing Committee will work together to finalize the competition schedule for the Games, which being on July 27th, with the hockey tournament beginning on July 29th.  x 31 More

    South Africa or Japan will join the London Games

    Japan survives a thriller against China to keep London hopes alive

    The 12th men's team in London will be either South Africa or Japan as the two teams earned a berth in Sunday's final at the Olympic Qualifier in Kakamigahara, Japan. The hosts narrowly earned their place after a come-from-behind 3-2 win against Asian rival, China. Japan's win made South Africa's game against Austria academic. Ultimately that game ended in a 2-2 draw.  x 2 More

    Australia men fall to fiercest rival Germany

    On Day 2 of the Olympic Test Event in London, the women's matches saw Korea hold Argentina to a draw, and Great Britain defeat China. In the men's competition, Germany edged out Australia and Great Britain secured three points against India. More

    Japan and Azerbaijan to play for the last London spot

    Top two seeds rise to the top of the women's Olympic Qualifier

    It will be a battle of the top two seeded teams on the final day of the Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kakamigahara, Japan. Host Japan won the round robin group thanks to a straight forward 4-0 win against Belarus. Azerbaijan will join the Japanese after a 2-2 draw against Chile was enough to put them through to the final.  x 3 More

    Japan, China and South Africa have an eye on the final

    It all comes down to the last day of round robin play at OQT

    If today is any indication, the men's spot at the London 2012 Games is definitely up for grabs as the two top men's at the Olympic Qualification Tournament, Japan and South Africa, dueled it out in a 3-3 tie. With China edging the Czechs 1-0 in the late game, both spots in the finals are still up for grabs. In the early game, Brazil put in a brave performance, but still lost, 3-1 against Austria.  x 6 More

    Japan takes over first place in women's qualifier

    Saturday's finals not yet set, but the picture is clearing

    Japan has nearly secured a spot in Saturday's final thanks to a 4-1 win against Azerbaijan. There is still a mathematical chance that the host could miss out on the final, but it is very slim. Chile's 2-1 come-from-behind win against Malaysia set up a big showdown between Chile and Azerbaijan on the last day of the round robin on Thursday. In the late game, Belarus blanked Austria, 5-0.  x 4 More

    Nearly every team that has taken part in the six Olympic Qualification Tournaments is on the Road to London. But not Brazil men’s team in Japan, they are on the Road to Rio.
