    It was a battle for joint possession of first place in the men's Olympic Qualifier round robin and South Africa earned bragging rights with a clear 5-2 win over China.     Japan's Princess Takamadonomiya takes an active interest in OQT

    Green Stadium in Kakamigahara, Japan had a very special guest for today’s Japan vs. Chile game. Princess Hisako Takamadonomiya came to the stadium to cheer on the Japanese women. She has been very active at this FIH Olympic Qualification Tournament as the President of Honor for the Japanese Hockey Association.  x 2 More

    Azerbaijan moves into pole position

    Japan falls behind at qualifier after a tie against Chile

    Azerbaijan took sole possession of first place in the Women's Olympic Qualification tournament round robin standings after a convincing 5-0 win against Austria. Japan ceded the co-lead after a surprise 0-0 draw against Chile. In the late game Malaysia staged a comeback to earn a point against Belarus in a 2-2 draw.  x 4 More

    Goals flow freely in Day 2 of Men's Qualifier

    In three games, 21 goals scored in a strong show of offense

    It was a festival of goals today as the Men's Olympic Qualifier in Japan resumed. The South Africans and Czechs combined for eight goals in a 6-2 win for South Africa. China went solo in reaching eight goals, beating Brazil, 8-0. Meanwhile Japan and Austria combined for five goals in Japan's 4-1 win.  x 3 More

    Top seeds at women's Olympic qualifier looking strong

    The two top seeds at the Women's Olympic Qualification Tournament are unbeaten in their first two games. Azerbaijan had a second half rally to top Belarus, 3-0, while Japan dominated Malaysia, 8-0. In the late game, Chile earned its first win of the event, topping Austria 3-0.   More

    The men's FIH Olympic Qualification Tournament got off to a soggy start on Thursday in Kakmigahara, Japan. The China vs. Austria game had to be stopped at the half with China leading 1-0.     Japan kicked off the 2012 Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kakamigahara in grand style this morning with an opening ceremony to welcome all the participants in the event.     Olympic qualifier kicks off tomorrow with last two London spots on the line

    On the eve of the final FIH Olympic Qualification tournament in Kakamigahara, Japan, 12 teams are dreaming of a berth to the London 2012 Games and only two will see it become a reality.
