To celebrate the Games, the names of 361 tube station stops in London have been changed to the names of Olympic athletes. Transport for London (TfL) has unveiled the special Olympic Legends Underground Map featuring icons such as four-time gold medallist Jesse Owens as station stops on the map. The EHF hosted an annual meeting of the Continental Federations with the FIH. The meeting was held in the EHF Office, Brussels on 23rd March 2012. The main items discussed dealt with the strategic plans of all the continental federations and the FIH. Ireland’s National Women’s Hockey coach, Gene Muller, has today announced his decision to retire from Irish Hockey. Belgium became the 11th women’s team to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics after powering past Ireland, 4-1, in the Athlon Car Lease FIH Road to London tournament in Antwerp. In front of a capacity crowd, Sofie Gierts had the game of her life and it came at just the right time as her three goals paced Belgium to the win and to London. World No. 2 Argentina defeated the Hockeyroos tonight 2-1 and with the victory, captured the series 1-0 after drawn results in the first two matches. Captained by seven time World Player of the Year Luciana Aymar, Argentina was too strong tonight against a tired Hockeyroos outfit. More
