USA Field Hockey announced that Liz Tchou, 1996 Olympian, has been hired as the Youth Development Manager. Tchou spent the last 16 years as a Head Coach at the Division I College level. She was a member of the Women’s National Team from 1989-1997 and was represented the U.S. at the 1996 Olympics. More

Argentina secured their fifth title at an FIH Champions Trophy with a 1-0 victory over Great Britain. It was the first time the Lionesses won the FIH flagship tournament on home soil. Argentina defeated the Netherlands 2-0 on penalties in an action packed Semi Final which contained a tremendous finish at the Argentina FIH Champions Trophy in Rosario. Noel Barrionuevo converted a penalty stroke 86 seconds before the end of regulation time to salvage extra-time for her team. Day 5 of the Argentina FIH Champions Trophy started with a surprising win as 9th ranked Japan defeated Korea 4-3 in extra-time. The second match saw New Zealand beat China 3-2 also in extra-time. Japan and New Zealand will play off for the 5th place while Korea and China will do battle for 7th.
