Sharkia Hockey Club of Egypt have claimed a record 20th men's Africa Cup for Club Champions title with a 4-2 win over Strathmore University of Kenya. In the Women's competitions, Nigeria’s Heartland Hockey Club retained their crown by beating Sunrise of Zimbabwe 5-1 in the tournament final. It was an extremely one-sided competition, with Heartlands winning every single match that they played, scoring 43 goals and conceding just two in the process. x 11 More

LAUSANNE – The FIH today announced changes to both the London 2012 Olympic line-up and the Olympic Qualification tournaments. The most notable change is that Spain’s National Men’s team have been awarded a berth to the London 2012 Olympic Games after the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee turned down it’s men’s team direct entry to the Games. x 24 More

Air Marshal M. Nur Khan, Ex-President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation passed away on 15th December 2011 after a prolonged illness. He made very valuable and tremendous contributions in Hockey in Pakistan and globally as a founder of the Champions Trophy. More

After a history making victory at the Champions Trophy in New Zealand last weekend, Kookaburras coach Ric Charlesworth has selected his 2012 London Olympic Games training squad. Charlesworth says “the task of selecting a squad is very difficult. We’ve built a deep squad over the last 3 years and it made the selection process tough, but we believe this group is better balanced in terms of attack and defence". More
