The FIH is delighted to announce the All-Stars for 2011, which feature a total of 36 players and four coaches who have lit up the hockey world over the past 12 months with their achievements. The squads – which were decided by public vote on the FIH Website between 12th and 21st December – feature a number of players who have been regularly named in the All-Stars, such as six times nominees Jamie Dwyer (AUS), Teun de Nooijer (NED) and Luciana Aymar (ARG). x 206 More

Hockey, at last, has its own archive museum. The dream of a number of enthusiasts has been realised. The Museum is at Butts Road in the lively leafy Surrey town of Woking in England. It has come about largely through the energy and initiative of a group of enthusiasts. Two pairs of people, Mike Smith and David Wareham, on one hand, and Patrick Rowley and Dil Bahra, on the other, with largely the same objective of working to preserve hockey’s rich heritage, met some four years ago. The Great Britain women’s hockey squads have been announced for the forthcoming FIH Champions Trophy in Rosario, Argentina, and a four nations preparation tournament in Cordoba. In total, 22 athletes will make the trip to South America in January including all of those shortlisted for the FIH World All Stars Team of 2011. x 3 More

The FIH today released the schedules for four of its six Olympic Qualification Tournaments. In total six Olympic spots are up for grabs, three on the men's side and three on the women's. The winners of each of the six Olympic Qualification Tournaments will earn a berth to the London 2012 Games. x 29 More

The Netherlands have named the squad that will aim to defend the FIH Champions Trophy title that they won last July in Amstelveen. Team coach Max Caldas has selected a mixture of experience and youth ahead of the tournament, which begins January 28, 2012 in the Argentine city of Rosario. More

German men's coach Markus Weise was presented as the Coach of the Year 2011 by the German Olympic Sports Confederation. The German men's hockey team finished fifth in the category Team of the Year, with football national champions Dortmund taking the top honors. More

Great Britain made it five wins out of five as they put four goals past the USA in their final game in San Diego. The game mirrored yesterday’s performance with a 0-0 score line at half-time, but Great Britain came out the stronger side in the second period to retain their 100 percent record on Stateside. More
