In the other game of the women's second pool round, Azerbaijan pried three points from the hands of Italy, England defeated Germany, and Ireland made their way past Belgium. In the day's two men's matches, England was too strong for Ireland, and the Netherlands outclassed France. More

In the women's tournament, all teams came into action, and all matches produced shut-outs, as Spain handed a 4-0 defeat to Italy, the Dutch inflicted an 8-0 victory on Azerbaijan, Germany moved past Ireland and England overcame Belgium. The Euro Hockey League and the European Hockey Federation are delighted to announce the draw and venues for Rounds 1.1 and 1.2 of the forthcoming 2011-2012 season. German newcomers HTC Uhlenhorst Mülheim and Belgian champions KHC Dragons will host their first ever Euro Hockey League tournaments when the hugely successful and pioneering club competition enters its fifth season later this year. The men’s and women’s EuroHockey Nations Championship II concluded over the weekend with the Czech Republic taking top honors on the men’s side and Scotland claiming the women’s title. Both teams are now promoted to the EuroHockey Nations Championship in 2013. More
