Lord Sebastian Coe, chairman of the organizing committee of the 2012 London Olympic Games, visited the WorldHockey Forum 'Synergy for Success' here in London on Friday. The former Olympic gold medallist explained to the more than 200 delegates present at the WorldHockey Forum the success of the London Olympic bid.

'I am delighted to be here at the WorldHockey Forum', Lord Coe stated. 'It is a honour for me to make a presentation at this important event. The Olympic Games in London are in 2012, but we already start hosting major sporting events. The WorldHockey Forum and the FIH Congress is one of them. It is important that international sporting federations like the FIH can have their meetings at one of the 2012 Olympic venues.'

Lord's cricket ground, the place where the FIH Congress, the WorldHockey Forum and several meetings were held the last seven days, will be used as archery venue in 2012.

FIH President Els van Breda Vriesman said that she was extremely happy that Lord Coe took time to speak at our Forum. 'His visit will strengthen the relation between the FIH and the London 2012 organizing committee even more' , she stated.

The WorldHockey Forum 'Synergy for Success' finished on Friday and is the 'warming up' for the FIH Congress on Saturday.
