The FIH recently released the six participants of the 2007 BDO Champions Trophy women, to be played in Quilmes, Argentina from 13 till 21 January 2007. According to the qualification rules, the following countries shall qualify:

  • The Champion of the Olympic Games 2004
  • The Champion of the World Cup 2006
  • The Champion of the Champions Trophy 2006
  • The host country

The other countries and the reserve countries shall be in order of those finishing in second and subsequent places in the 2006 Samsung World Cup.

Based upon these qualification criteria the teams to qualify for the 2007 BDO Champions Trophy will be:

  • Germany (as current Olympic and Champions Trophy Champion)
  • Netherlands (as Samsung World Cup winner)
  • Argentina (as the host country)
  • Australia (runner-up Samsung World Cup)
  • Spain (4th Samsung World Cup)
  • Japan (5th Samsung World Cup)

The 2007 Women’s Champions Challenge will be played in Baku, Azerbaijan from 9 till 17 June 2007. According to the qualification rules, the following countries shall qualify:

  • The host country
  • The country ranked 6th in the previous Champions Trophy

The other countries and reserve countries shall be those countries not already qualified for the BDO Champions Trophy 2007 in order of their ranking at the Samsung World Cup.

Based upon these qualification criteria the teams to qualify for the 2007 Champions Challenge will be:

  • Azerbaijan (as the host country)
  • New Zealand (6th ranked team 2006 Champions Trophy)
  • USA (6th Samsung World Cup)
  • England (7th Samsung World Cup)
  • Korea (9th Samsung World Cup)
  • China (10th Samsung World Cup)
