Netherlands remains leader of the Women’s Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings after the victory at the Samsung World Cup. The Dutch squad extended its lead after adding 1000 points for winning the Samsung World Cup. Netherlands as 2556 points now and is leading by 376 points over Samsung World Cup runner-up Australia.
The Australian team moved up two spots thanks to the second place at the Samsung World Cup. Australia is ranked second with 2180 points.
Argentina moved down one place after finishing third at the Samsung World Cup. The Argentine team has 2158 points now, just 22 points less than Australia. Germany dropped down from third to fourth after finishing at a disappointing eight position in Madrid, Spain.
Japan and USA did a good job by winning two places.
The next update of the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings will take place after the Asian Games, to be played In Doha, Qatar from 1-15 December 2006.
