Belgium 4 defeated Ireland 2

The Belgian National Team put in an excellent performance to defeat Ireland 4-2 despite being forced to play with 10 men when four players missed their flights to Dublin due to traffic jams.
During the entire game, the players remained very concentrated and focused on the objectives that were set by the coach, Giles Bonnet The players proved with their positive attitude and good team spirit that they do not take these friendly games lightly.
The senior players led by example and the junior players showed that they have enough quality to be on the pitch. In goals, 20-year-old Quentin Walravens put in a strong performance in only his second international match.
John-John Dohmen, 17, played well at left back, especially with his positioning and passing. On the left side, Jérôme Truyens - who played a game with his club, Racing, the day before - showed yet again his offensive qualities without ignoring the defensive play.
Offensively, Belgium created a lot of goal scoring opportunities and Zoulou Brulé (voted man of the match) was extremely lethal on penalties corners with two conversions from four attempts.
In defence, the team remained very organised and only conceded two goals from penalty corners. The team is determined to show the same form in Alexandria, Egypt, during the Sahara Hockey Champions Challenge from 1-9 April.
