The participants in September’s men’s World Cup have been confirmed after the completion of the BDO Hockey World Cup Qualifier in Changzhou, China.
New Zealand, Korea, England, Pakistan and Japan emerged from a highly competitive tournament to book their place at the BDO Hockey World Cup in Monchengladbach, Germany, from 6-17 September.
New Zealand won the tournament with an impressive 4-1 performance against Korea and England claimed third place with a 3-1 victory over Pakistan, with Japan joining the semi final quartet after edging France 2-1 in the fifth place playoff.
Eleven of the top 12 teams on the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings qualified for the World Cup, with Japan (ranked 14th) the only team outside that group to qualify.
