Irish Hockey Association: Irish National Coach Riet Kuper has released her squad for Ireland's senior women's trip to Argentina in March.

Ireland will compete in a four-nation tournament that will present extremely strong opposition in the form of Argentina, Germany and USA.

Elaine Bromell and Katharine Elkin have not made Kuper's squad of 19, but uncapped Loreto player Nikki Keegan has been selected on the strength of her performance in a camp in Spain earlier this year. Kuper has again selected three goalkeepers in Angela Platt, Mary Goode and Louisa Healy. Fiona Connery is unavailable for selection due to work commitments.

Kuper will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing Spar four-nation tournament in South Africa two weeks ago, where Ireland lost all four games against Scotland, South Africa and Azerbaijan.

"This is a prestigious 4-nations tournament that will give us a great opportunity to test our players," said Kuper today.

"The South Africa camp showed that lots of work needs to be done but at the same time it made all players aware that there is no time to waste and that a 100% focus for the next eight weeks is required."

The squad travels to Argentina on 10 March, with its first fixture against Germany on 15 March at 18:30. Ireland then plays USA at the same time the following day, with a fixture against host nation Argentina at 21:00 on 18 March.
