Catriona Semple will replace the injured Aimee Clark in the Scotland women’s hockey squad for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next month.

Clark sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the team’s recent win over Ireland in a Four Nation competition in South Africa.

Dundee-based Semple, has been capped 28 times for Scotland and was originally named as a reserve for the squad. Katrina Cameron has been called in to replace Semple as travelling reserve for the Games.

"Aimee is one of our talented young athletes and while this is a set back for her she will have opportunities in the future,” Scottish Hockey Union Chief Executive Officer, Brent Deans, said.

“Aimee’s replacement, Catriona Semple, brings a great deal of experience to the squad and will fill the midfield role admirably."
