England Hockey has announced the appointment of Nick Thompson to the U21 men’s coaching programme. Thompson will assist Bobby Crutchley in preparing the U21 men’s team for the European Championships in July, in Prague.

Junior Men’s Performance Manager, Peter Nicholson is delighted Thompson is able to join the coaching team.

“Following the recruitment process late last year, Nick was always our first choice, unfortunately, Nick was unable to accept the appointment originally, but everything is now in place for Nick to take up the position,” Nicholson said.

Thompson brings a wealth of playing experience at International level to the programme with 196 England and GB caps scoring 52 goals. He played at the Atlanta Olympics also took part in three World Cups, three European Championships and six Champion Trophy tournaments.
