Apply for a WHUB Umpiring Coaching Course

As part of the WorldHockey Umpiring Boost (WHUB) programme, there are grants available to National Associations to support an additional 12 Umpiring Courses during 2006, over and above those due to be run via FIH NA Development Fund Grant awards.

Each WHUB grant covers the appointed Course Conductor’s airfare and a modest daily allowance while they are conducting the Course. As with the FIH NA Development Fund Grant awards, the Course Conductor’s accommodation, meals and local transport will be covered by the host National Association.

We welcome applications for these WHUB Umpiring Courses. An application form is included with this information letter, but it can also be found both in the WorldHockey Umpiring Boost Handbook and on the WorldHockey website. Applications should preferably be received by 1 February 2006, either by post or e-mail as below. If you require any assistance with your applications, please consult your Continental Development Officer.

Please note that should these WHUB Umpiring Courses be oversubscribed, preference will be given to Regional Courses.

The WorldHockey Umpiring Boost is a FIH project, jointly organised by the Umpiring and the Development and Coaching Committees, whose overall objective is to help as many National Associations as possible to encourage, promote and develop Umpiring in their own country.

Further information on the WorldHockey Umpiring Boost can be obtained in the Umpires section of the FIh website or by contacting Richard Wilson, FIH Umpiring Development Manager, richard.wilson@worldhockey.org.
