FIH Executive Board member Marc Coudron has been appointed to a major post in his native Belgium. Coudron was recently elected to the Executive Board of the Belgian National Olympic Committee.

Every country that takes part in the Olympic Games has a National Olympic Committee that is responsible for overseeing all the national teams and athletes that compete at the Olympics and ensuring that they meet all areas of the Olympic charter. Coudron is the second member of the Belgian NOC that is involved in hockey, president Pierre Olivier Beckers is also on the Executive Board of the NOC. The Belgian national team has enjoyed massive success the last few years with both men’s and women’s teams earning a berth to the London 2012 Olympics. Coudron’s appointment is yet another feather in the cap of the budding hockey country.
