Following on from the news we brought you about the track sprinting exploits of Black Sticks star Anita Punt, it seems that another international hockey star is making a name for herself on a different sporting stage.
Earlier this month, Great Britain Olympic Bronze medallist Chloe Rogers showed that she is more than handy with a set of golf clubs when she helped England register a third successive win in the prestigious Ladies Golf Cup World Final at Spain’s La Manga Club.
According to a report in the Saffron Walden Reporter, Rogers – who has won more than 160 combined caps for England and Great Britain – had no trouble swapping her hockey stick for golf clubs and played a leading role as England held off nearest challengers Thailand to claim victory in the 36-hole competition.
The 27-year-old, who plays off a handicap of four at her local golf club, won both her matches on La Manga Club’s famous fairways and was one of only two players to score maximum points at the international event.
