The European Hockey Federation (EHF) was delighted that the Belgian National Wheelchair team joined the BMW AutoLille EuroHockey Championship in Lille to demonstrate a game of wheelchair hockey.

Normally played on a court of 23 metres, the players were put through their paces over the 40 metre court in Lille. The squads are in training for the Wheelchair World Cup due to take place in Germany in 2014.

Some players use hand sticks and others used a T-stick which is attached to the front of their chair. Chairs are allowed to travel up to 15kmph and 'blocking' is not allowed.

Games are 20 minutes a side and the Red Devils took on their fellow squad members who were dressed in black.

Huge thanks to the team and management for taking the time to share a taste of Wheelchair hockey in Lille.
