Irish forward Peter Caruth has been withdrawn from the Green Machine squad for the upcoming World League 2 Tournament in India due to injury.
The Braxgata player, who scored Ireland’s golden goal winner in the recent Champions Challenge 1 tournament in Argentina in December 2012 has been struggling with an leg injury and has been unable to train in recent weeks.
The decision to withdraw Caruth from the squad has been made as late as possible in the hope that the 65 cap Irish International might have recovered in time. We wish Peter a speedy recovery and look forward to his early return to the Green Machine.
Irish Coach Andrew Meredith has called upon Monkstown’s David Carson to replace Caruth in the squad and he will travel to Malaysia with the rest of the Green Machine tomorrow in preparation for World League 2 later this month. Carson has 18 caps and has scored 3 goals for Ireland
