The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Polytan/STI (Sports Technology International) are pleased to announce Polytan/STI as FIH Preferred Pitch Supplier.

Polytan/STI are globally renowned as world class manufacturers, designers and builders of sports surfaces which are found from local sports centres to the most prestigious locations as surfaces of choice for elite sporting competitions such as World Cups, Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Polytan/STI's product range includes surfaces for sports as varied as hockey, tennis, rugby, athletics, football, golf and more.

The agreement which covers the period until 2016 is an extension of a partnership which began during the Men's Hockey World Cup in February 2010 for which Polytan/STI installed 3 surfaces at the Mayor Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi which later that same year was also the venue for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Polytan/STI’s premium brand Poligras has in fact been the surface of choice in many of hockey's recent top tier events, including Olympic and Commonwealth Games, Champions Trophy tournaments and World Cups, and received accolades during the Olympic Games in London last summer, when the innovative and iconic blue-coloured fields of the Riverbank Arena played a pivotal role in making this Olympic tournament one of the most successful and talked-about in hockey history.

FIH President Leandro Negre said, “We are very happy to extend what has been a highly successful partnership to this date, and look forward to cooperating even more extensively with Polytan/STI over the coming years. The blue pitch in London was an absolute highlight of the Olympic Games, and we are excited to see which new heights our partnership will take us to during the upcoming years."

Polytan/STI Managing Director Stephen Niven said, “We are extremely pleased to confirm this agreement between FIH and Polytan/Sports Technology International, building upon the relationship developed over the past 3 years. Polytan/STI has provided the surfaces for many of hockey's top level competitions in recent years, and we are looking forward to taking our involvement in hockey to the next level through close cooperation with the world governing body."
