Hockey Australia seeks to employ a National Database Coordinator. This role is located at Hockey Australia’s head office in St Kilda Road Melbourne and is a full time position with a two year contract.

Overview of the Role:

The primary focus of this newly created role is to establish and grow the engagement of the hockey community in its new national database platform. The role will require a strong working knowledge of IT and database platforms and will require developing sound working partnerships with the hockey community across Australia. This position will suit an enthusiastic high achiever eager to make a mark and contribute towards a rapidly growing national IT platform. Knowledge of the sport of hockey and the wider hockey community would be beneficial.


• Coordinate the internal membership and competition database requirements of the hockey community across Australia.
• Coordinate the initial roll out of a new national member and competition management database.
• Coordinate the increased usage of the national database at state and club level.
• Coordinate and deliver ongoing training on a national, state and club level.
• Coordinate the training and support services for all levels of users from national, state and club levels.
• Coordinate technical developments within the scope of a full national database system.
• Provide day to day technical advice to state and club stakeholders.
• Be the liaison with external consultants to coordinate major database requirements.
• Travelling to the various clubs/regions to conduct training and product promotion sessions.
• Provide ‘high level’ technical support where appropriate and assist with educating the hockey community on how to leverage support from external database supplier.
• Ensure all communication with hockey community is accurately recorded.
• Ensure strong knowledge of national database system via regular self-training.
• Coordinate and liaise with the national database working party.
