Irish Hockey Association: The Irish Hockey Association has re-launched its website, www.hockey.ie, the new site going live this week.
Timed to coincide with the start of the new domestic season, the site reflects the new Irish Hockey branding that has been launched and promoted throughout 2005, together with added functionality and usability.
Aside from providing up-to-date hockey news, the site contains clearer information about national teams, players, IHA’s competitions and IHA itself. There are also sections dedicated to important areas such as kids and development, high performance and sponsorship.
An online merchandising section of the site is also under construction and is due to be launched at a later date, in partnership with the Association’s official kit supplier,
“Feedback we received on the old site was that it was fine if you knew what you wanted to find and where to find it, but difficult to navigate if you were unfamiliar with the site or new to hockey in general,” IHA’s Chief Executive Paul Varian said.
“Our goal was to provide clearer branding around our national teams and their players, and give clear explanatory information about the competitions and structure of Irish hockey, for users who are not wholly familiar with the sport. We want the new site to continue to enhance communication directly with the hockey community and get more and more people hooked on hockey.’’
The site was developed by Karen Bateman at ESUS Consulting, with a strong focus on best practice web design.
IHA invites feedback by emailing info@hockey.ie or by visiting the website and clicking ‘Contact Us’.
