A last minute strike from top defender Lauren Crandall was enough to give USA a 1-0 win against Belgium and secure victory in the Toyota Three Nations tournament, which took place this week in Terrassa, Spain.

Incredibly, Crandall's late score was the only goal in the three match tournament, which also featured host nation Spain. Earlier in the week, both USA and Belgium played out 0-0 draws with a Spanish squad hit hard by a stomach illness.Spanish coach  Salva Indurain was forced to play the USA match with just two substitutes instead of the permitted five, with three subs being available for their meeting against Belgium.

Indurain will be hoping that his squad returns to full fitness head of the Athlon Car Lease FIH Road to London Olympic Qualifier, which begins on 17th March in Kontich, Belgium. More information about the tournament can be found by clicking here. USA have already qualified for the London 2012 Olympics courtesy of their success at the Pan American Games last year.
