GBOHL: The Board of Great Britain Olympic Hockey Limited (GBOHL) is has announced the appointment of Dick Clarke as its interim CEO.

The part-time consultancy position spans a crucial 6 month period of activity for the Board which has responsibility for both the Men’s and Women’s Olympic teams and programmes.

Clarke, 53, is a former indoor International and with experience of coaching service to England both in outdoor and indoor international hockey arenas.

The primary task facing Clarke is to propose and implement a robust organisational structure of governance which will be able to handle the additional responsibilities in organising and preparing British teams to participate in the next two Olympics

“It is essential for GBOHL to put the structure and building blocks in place to allow best preparation of our Olympic teams. I am thrilled that Dick has answered my call to give his full commitment to GBOHL,” President of GBOHL, Roger Self, said.

“The momentum of 2012 is already with us and, as far as the Board is concerned, as well as being competitive on the field we need to be commercial off it. His qualities are exactly those that both GBOHL and our member Associations will need as we all enter an exciting development period for hockey at all levels throughout the UK.”
