New Zealand 7, India 3:
New Zealand came back from being down three times in the match against India to record a 7-3 win at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipohm Malaysia.
It was the biggest margin of victory ever recorded by New Zealand in an international match against India in 65 meetings, dating back to 1935.
Prior to this, the wins by New Zealand over India were one goal margins, except for the match in Antwerp in 2007 where New Zealand won 2-0.
The defeat halted any hopes India had of making the final and New Zealand can make Sunday’s final if they defeat Australia in their last preliminary round match on Saturday, with Pakistan and Great Britain losing.

Malaysia 3, Korea 1:
Malaysia defeated South Korea 3-1 at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh tonight.
It was a much improved performance by the Malaysians who were staring at the wooden spoon before this match but can now make the placing matches if the defeat Pakistan on Saturday.
Korea were awarded a penalty stroke in the 8th minute, a rather harsh decision by umpire Satoshi Kondo.
Mohd Shukri Abdul Mutalib was adjudged to have fouled Korea’s You Hyo Sik but it looked more like a dive on replays. But it was poetic justice as keeper S. Kumar saved the stroke taken by Jang Jong Hyun.
Malaysia was awarded a penalty corner in the 13th minute but Hafifihafiz Hanafi deflected the shot by Mohd Razie Abdul Rahim way over the bar.
