The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is pleased to announce that two new members of staff will be joining the office based team in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Jenny Wiedeke takes the position of Communications Manager following a seven year stint in the same role at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), while Sarah Massey has been engaged on a part time consultancy basis to assist with events planning and co-ordination. Both Ms Wiedeke and Mrs Massey will begin their work with the FIH in the week beginning Monday 17th January 2011.

Following the completion of her Masters Degree in Sports & Business Management at the University of North Carolina in 1999, Jenny Wiedeke began a four year role with USA Hockey (ice hockey) in the position of Public Relations and Marketing Manager before joining the International Ice Hockey Federation in May 2003. Some of her many achievements with the IIHF included managing the redesign and re-launch of, as well as the creation and implementation of a new corporate identity and logo concept.  She was also responsible for the management of up to 500 media personnel at events such as the Olympic Winter Games (2006, 2010) and the IIHF World Championships. The US citizen has also held professional posts in Sport Marketing, Promotions and Journalism.

Mrs. Sarah Massey joins the FIH with extensive commercial and operational experience. Since 2008 she has been the Business Director of Fast Track Sports Marketing in London, where she worked closely with UK Athletics to deliver services in marketing, PR, event management, sponsor servicing, commercial rights delivery and budget management of a multi million pound programme. Previous to that, Mrs Massey was an Event Consultant for Alpinex, another UK based company, working with high profile clients such as the Madrid 2016 Olympic Bid Committee, Beijing 2008 Olympic Organising Committee and the West Indies 2007 Cricket World Cup Organising Committee.  She was also the Commercial and General Manager of the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.

“We are absolutely delighted that Jenny and Sarah are joining our team”, said Kelly Fairweather, Chief Executive Officer of the International Hockey Federation. “They both arrive at the FIH with extremely impressive CV’s having worked at the very highest levels of sports administration, and will be key players in helping us hit the targets that we have set ourselves in the FIH Strategic Plan 2010-2016.”
