The Black Sticks Men have drawn two all against the Malaysian Men team in Kuala Lumpur.
This is the first of two test matches the teams are playing in their respective build up games to the Commonwealth Games.
With a score of 2-0 to Malaysia at half time, Shane McLeod's team had to put in some effort to even the score.
A draw came in the last 10 minutes of the game, with Hugo Inglis and Nick Wilson (recently named the U21 Player of the Year) both putting away goals.
The game started at 5.00pm local time, but was interupted by rain after the first 10 minutes. It was stopped for 75 minutes before resuming.
These two teams play again on Tuesday at 5.00pm local time.
The Black Sticks Men will also play a friendly against the Malaysian Men's Junior team on Wednesday to round off their stay in Malaysia, before flying on to Delhi on Thursday, September 30.
