England Hockey: With effect from 1st July 2005, England Hockey (EH) will take over the responsibilities of World Class Hockey Ltd (WCHL) for developing, preparing and managing all of England’s international hockey teams. These include the men’s and women’s senior, under 21, under 18 & under 16 squads.

WCHL was formed by Sport England in 2002 as a separate company to manage the Lottery funded International Programmes following the demise of the English Hockey Association.

Philip Kimberley, Executive Chairman of EH said, “England Hockey has been successful in re-building the Governing Body and the grass-roots side of the sport, and both EH and Sport England have agreed that the time is now right to re-integrate the management of the International game as well.”

All of the current WCHL staff will transfer to EH in due course, and will continue to use their normal locations, so the process will be totally seamless and current International activity will continue completely uninterrupted.

WCHL will continue to exist for legal and financial purposes for the next few months, and it is envisaged that all staff, contracts and accounts will be fully transferred over to EH by 1st September.
