The men’s team of Austria triumphed at the EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship in Almere, Netherlands. The Austrian team defeated defending Champion Russia after an extra time goal of Michael Körper (4-3).
Host Netherlands took the bronze medal by defeating Spain (5-2). The Men’s EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship was also one of the qualifiers for the FIH Indoor World Cup, to be played in Poznan, Poland from 11-18 February 2011.
Besides medalists Austria, Russia and Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Czech Republic are qualified for the FIH Indoor World Cup. England, winner of the Men’s EuroHockey Indoor Nations Trophy, also earned a ticket to the FIH Indoor World Cup 2011.
The Women’s EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship will take place in Duisburg, Germany from 22-24 January 2010.
