The Hockeyroos have lost the final match of their five test series 2-0 against Argentina but walk away victorious overall having won the first three matches of the series.
Playing the fifth and final match in Mendoza, Argentina, the Hockeyroos were extremely competitive however two goals to 2008 Women’s World Player of the Year Luciana Aymar proved to be the difference.
Hockeyroos coach Frank Murray was also quick to praise his captain in Madonna Blyth, who was clearly the Hockeyroos best player and has developed considerably since taking over the captaincy duties at the beginning of 2009.
”In what became the battle of the captains Argentina emerged victorious. Brilliant performances by both Madonna Blyth and Luciana Aymar kept the capacity crowd enthralled in what was an event contest,” said Murray.
