The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is pleased to announce that Competitions Manager Dennis Meredith, who was due to retire on 1 October 2009, has agreed with the FIH to extend his term of office for a further six months and will now retire on 31 March, 2010.  Dennis has served the FIH for almost ten years and celebrated his 65th birthday at the end of September.

Australian citizen Dennis Meredith will therefore work at the FIH Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland until 31 March 2010. After this date, he will continue to act as the FIH Event Delegate for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, working on a voluntary basis.

Dennis Meredith will remain secretary of the FIH Competitions Committee until 31 March 2010, but will relinquish his role as joint secretary of the FIH Appointments Committee.

‘We are very pleased with this solution and would like to thank Dennis for agreeing to extend his time with us for another 6 months’, FIH Director General Christophe Troendle stated. ‘This will allow us to make sure that Dennis’ vast knowledge is transferred within Headquarters.’
