Ireland's senior women's hockey team set off yesterday to compete in the prestigious KT Cup in Korea to be played at the Seongnan Hockey Stadium in Seoul from 9-16 June.

This tournament will be highest possible challenge for the Irish side, as they step up their preparations for the European Nations Championship in Dublin in August.

The tournament will give Ireland the opportunity to develop their style of play against the world's top hockey nations.

Ireland who are currently ranked 13th in the world, will play their first match against Korea, ranked seventh in the world, before facing world number four China in their next match. Other matches will be played England, Malaysia and India.
