After two days of play at the EuroHockey Nations Championships in Amstelveen, Netherlands, all favorites are still going strong. Defending men’s champion Netherlands opened the event with a 9-0 win over Poland, while defending women’s champion Germany already booked two victories.
Two women’s teams are already sure of playing in the semifinals. The two victories of Germany against Ireland and Spain are enough for a place in the Final Four of the EuroHockey Nations Championships. Olympic and World Champion Netherlands nailed Azerbaijan (10-0) and England (5-0) and is also sure of a place in the semifinals. With this result, Germany and Netherlands are qualified for the 2010 BDO FIH World Cup in Argentina.
