Korea Hockey Association has announced that Malaysia has been added to the list of participating teams at the women's KT Cup in Seongnam from 8-16 June.

Malaysia will join China, England, India, Ireland and the home team in the six nation tournament that will feature three of the top 10 teams on the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings.

As well as competing for the title of KT Cup champion, many teams will also use the tournament as invaluable preparation for major events later this year.

Both China and Korea (ranked fourth and seventh in the world respectively) will participate at the Samsung Hockey Champions Trophy in Canberra, Australia, in November. Match practice against the world’s top teams in the lead-up to the Champions Trophy is important before the year’s most prestigious international tournament.

Meanwhile England is preparing for the Rabobank Hockey Champions Challenge in the United States in early July, and India will be looking to use the tournament as a springboard for their Commonwealth Games defence in Australia in early 2006.
