Manager Kay Hanham reports: We started the game brightly taking the initiative and adopting a very positive style of play but all too often our attacks led to nothing. Despite having the lion’s share of possession, we went into the half time break level having not really created many goal-scoring opportunities.
The second half saw us become more decisive and direct and an excellent passing move led to our first goal from Alex Danson, who picked up a rebound after a fierce shot from Lisa Wooding and fired it into the top corner.
We went further ahead with a drag flick from captain Kate Walsh and continued to play some excellent passing hockey creating several more good opportunities in the 25-minute spell after the break. We were rewarded with a third goal from Mel Clewlow with an excellent penalty corner strike but were disappointed to concede a goal in the last five minutes, when we relaxed and gave the Scots their only scoring opportunity of the game
