The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Spanish Hockey Federation (RFEH) would like to inform about the outcome of anti-doping tests that haven taken place during the Women’s WorldHockey Olympic Qualifier in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The A-samples of two players from the national team of Spain have shown adverse analytical findings. The athletes through the RFEH have been informed immediately after the FIH received the results of the test of the A-samples. The athletes and the RFEH requested the B-samples to be analyzed, which will take place in the next couple of weeks.
This case is currently being investigated and whilst the process is ongoing, it would be inappropriate and against our procedures to make the details public. These procedures are intended to help protect the confidentiality rights of athletes as well as the integrity of the results management process, particularly should the investigation find that there has not been a violation of the anti-doping rules.
As soon as the case has reached a conclusion, and if there is a determination that an anti-doping rule violation has occurred, then all relevant information will be published. Until that moment, no other communication will be made.
